The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in honor at the Interment Service for Amplias Owen Hibbs at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Blvd., Denver, 80236 on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 1:15PM, Committal Shelter C. His wife, Dorothy Melinda Hibbs, will also be interred at this Service.

Mr. Hibbs was born on July 26, 1920 and died on May 28, 2019 at the age of 98. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He enlisted shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor and became a B-25 Flight Instructor and graduated 117 pilots. He then served in the Pacific with the 345th Bomber Group. Following his Service, Mr. Hibbs worked as a United Airlines Pilot for almost 30 years. His career also included the position of Assistant Manager of Flight Operations at Lowry Air Force Base.


12:30PM - Stage at the Fort Logan Visitors Center
12:45PM - Mission Briefing
1:00PM - Depart for Committal Shelter C to Form Flag Line

Dave "Captain Slow" Lefavor will serve as Ride Captain.


I will be honored to attend and will bring Flags.

I will forever be grateful for his service, sacrifice, and dedication to our country. Rest easy now, Sir…those you have left behind to carry on without you have the watch.
