We had an amazing turnout for the Sept. 28 Honor Flight welcome home in Colorado Springs. The Southern Colorado PGR were honored and humbled to be joined by several members of the American Legion Riders and the Blue Knights as well as as many Air Force service members as we had flags for. I think we actually ran out of flags for people to hold. Ride Captain "DamnIt" Jim Balcerovich did a great job of herding the cats and dealing with the inevitable last minute changes and scrambling to reset the flag line.

It's always such a joy to see these WWII vet's faces light up as they come off the buses to the cheers and applause of family, friends and the other attendees.

The lighting was not so good, but here are some photos to share of the event. I will also attach a couple of links to some video clips I took when I get them uploaded to YouTube.

Thanks to the hero's who sacrificed back then and our hats are off and head's bowed for the hero who passed away during the trip; living out his final "bucket list" wish to join this trip.

It was great to see our brother Dave join us for this mission!

The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.
