The Colorado Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to support the deployment of troops from Ft. Carson "over there" in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. This is one of many deployments that will be happening over the next several days. This mission will consist of us greeting the troops as they arrive to the military terminal and prepare for deployment. After this, will hang out in the breakroom for awhile (usually a bit more than an hour) and then assemble again and salute the troops as they board the plane.
My personal opinion is that this mission type is by far the most important mission that we perform. We are the last civilians that these troops will see before they deploy, and I've heard on a number of occasions that having us there supporting them means more to them than anything.
Staging will take place at the end of the paved section of road near the Military Terminal at the Colorado Springs Airport.
To get to the staging location, take Drennan/Milton Proby east from Powers into the Colorado Springs Airport. Take the first right about 3/4 of a mile in and then make an immediate left. You'll notice large signs that point to Cresterra Pkwy and Bud Breckner Blvd. Depending on where you look, there also may be a sign that says Air Cargo road. These are all the same road and lead to a series of defense contractor buildings. Follow this around past the buildings until you come to the end of the pavement. We will stage in the right lane of the road at the end.
Stage: 1300 (1:00pm) Brief: 1315 (1:15pm) Depart: 1330 (1:30pm)
If you have not previously filled out the Dod Access Form and plan to attend this mission, please do so. Even if you have a valid military ID that allows you access to Ft. Carson you will NOT be allowed to participate in this mission unless your information is included on this form as well.
You can find the form and information about it here: http://forums.coloradopgr.org/topic56-ft-carson-and-peterson-afb-access-list.aspx
Hope to see you there. edited by CHARGER on 7/26/2010 edited by CHARGER on 7/31/2010

Not sure what you mean by "What happened" as they are both still posted and both still active.

Damn, I don't see them listed, as the single page of missions that I see doesn't have anything dated for 01 Aug. I'm going to keep searching as I'm available on Sunday. Damn NooB's, we can't find anything... [ ... enter large smiley face here ... ]
[Edit] Okay, I found them, just looking in recent topics only which is why I didn't see them. edited by Lucky on 7/31/2010

Easiest thing to do is look at the calendar that is on the main page (http://forums.coloradopgr.org ) as that will show everything happening within the upcoming 5 days. If you want to look farther out, you can click the link on the main page to take you to the full calendar, which shows 90 days of events. That way you don't have to worry about sifting through the unsorted list of missions (They are sorted by the date/time they were posted and not the actual date of the mission)

Easiest thing to do Thanks, I was making it more difficult for myself, when it's quite easy. Even a NooB can become a regular, given some time.
