A more appropriate name for this event might be, "The Unofficial 4-Corners (and more) Region PGR Meet/Greet and Par-tay!"

SAVE THE DATE - Note that the registration form is attached to this message as well. Please download the registration form, fill it out and send it in as detailed on the application.

Come join members of the Patriot Guard Riders from the 4 corners region as we converge on Cuba, NM for a weekend of fun, camaraderie and a celebration of the freedoms that we enjoy. There are several events planned that we'll detail here as we get closer, but I wanted to make sure that we get this on the calendar now so that folks can plan for it. We will have members from:

Oklahoma -- Jeff "Twister" Brown and his lovely wife Bonnie, along with others from OK will be there
Texas
Colorado -- I'll be organizing a group ride from Colorado Springs, likely leaving at 0800 on the 15th from downtown. Cuba is a 6.5 hour ride from the Springs through some amazing country!
Utah
Arizona -- Those that have never had the opportunity to meet Harold and Louann Thomas are in for a treat!

No promises being made, but will check on whether I can even get the time off from work. Definitely want to attend, but not sure whether I can or should...

I would like to attend. When you start making reservations, please let me know where so I
can reserve at the same place.

After sleeping on this I'm starting to lean towards saying no. Cannot picture myself attending something like this when unable to ride yet. If I were to attend I would agree with Gail that I would need a motel room and would reserve with the group.

Brad, I hope you change your mind about going. It's gotta be hard not being able to ride, but you will still have a good time.

I'm going to be dragging down my teardrop and staying at the fairgrounds. Gotta watch the $$$.

As of right now I will be attending. Grabbed the days off at work and am waiting to see what Mary and Kay find out on their recon tomorrow.

The date is saved and plan to make the trip! In 6 years I've not been to a M&G but suspect this one to be a bit special. Party

I can only shake my head and report what a screwed up place the USPS is. Last week I asked to have the days off for this and was told by my boss that the week had an opening so I could take it if I put in a request, so I did. Today, I went over to look at the vacation sheet to make sure they had put me on the list for this week. They had not, because there is NOT an opening in the week. The boss mistakenly looked at the wrong week.

Anyway, the way it works now is that I am put on the 'disapproved pending schedule' list, which means that they can wait until the Tuesday of the week before this event to decide whether they will give me the days off, based mostly on whether the people who actually already bid the week take all their days or not.

Basically I can make all the plans I want and get told at the last second I cannot go.

Brad, I know the feeling. I worked for the P.O. and retired in 92. I remember twice that I had a long weekend and planned on a bike tripe only
to be mandated to work both times.

Yep, it really sucks. I guess I will go ahead and make reservations and plans, but probably will have to cancel....

The boss felt bad for mandating me after my raving n ranting. Funny thing was both it was the same boss on both times. The second time he had to mandate me he wasn't sure if he should do it, but, made sure the were no subs available in the city. He did try to make it up to me like taking half day off and no annual charged to me. I told him it cost me motel charges with no refunds.

I recommend that we have a good showing for this...Rick Romero, State Captain of New Mexico is going all out for this and what he has planned is amazing!!! you WILL NOT want to miss this event!!! he is planning everything around both bikes and cages...so don't feel that if you don't ride you will miss out on anything....also...book rooms or space in the campground now....Arizona PGR are already booking up everything :-)
