On the Tuesday, before the second Saturday, of each month, we join the veterans in the PTSD Program for a Ping Pong/Pizza Social. This began in April of 2010. The PTSD Program Recreational Therapist was looking for help in finding equipment to help occupy the "down time" of those enrolled in the seven week Program. The Colorado PGR and Veterans of Vietnam, MC, raised funds to purchase a ping pong table, paddles, etc.. We have been participating in this monthly event for almost two years and it has been great fun for all involved.
The VA Hospital is located at 1055 Clermont Street, in Denver and the PTSD Unit is on the 7th floor.
The Socials begin at 6:00PM and we meet, no later than 5:45PM, in the Community Room which is just inside the northern most entrance on Clermont Street.
The schedule for 2012 is:
10 JANUARY 07 FEBRUARY 06 MARCH 10 APRIL 08 MAY 05 JUNE 10 JULY 07 AUGUST 04 SEPTEMBER 09 OCTOBER 06 NOVEMBER 04 DECEMBER

We have a standing invitation to attend the PTSD Graduation Ceremonies. Two or three Program participants graduate each week, on Thursdays, at 2:00PM, in the same room where the Ping Pong/Pizza Socials take place. We generally meet on the 7th floor by 1:45PM. Reuben specifically invited us to his Graduation, tomorrow, January 19th. He won the Ping Pong Tournament in both December and January. Reuben will have no family at the Ceremony. If anyone can make this, I know he and the other Graduates will be appreciative.
