DoD Identifies US Army Casualty


The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve.


Sgt. William Edward Friese, 30, from Rockport, West Virginia, died July 18, 2019 in Camp Buehring, Kuwait, from a non-combat related incident. The incident is under investigation.


Friese was assigned to 821st Engineer Company, 1092nd, Engineer Battalion, 111th Engineer Brigade, Summersville, West Virginia.

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to the Reception for the participants in the 5th Annual Veterans Charity Ride at 4:00PM, on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at the Hotel Elegante', 2886 Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, 80906.


Veterans Charity Ride participants were wounded, severely injured or are amputees as a result of their Military Service. They will be stopping in Colorado Springs as they continue their journey to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The riders have been provided the use of Indian Motorcycles with Sidecars or Trikes. This Reception will provide an opportunity for us to meet these heroes and to thank them for their Service and Sacrifices.

The Colorado Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in honor at a Memorial for Maj. Cassandra Lang Stall at Soldier's Memorial Chapel, Ft. Carson, Colorado, on Monday, July 22nd, 2019 at 10:00AM. Major Stall served two tours of combat in Iraq and was stationed throughout the world during her 15 years of Honorable Service. She passed on July 16th, 2019 following a long battle with cancer.


09:00AM Stage, Gate 1, Ft. Carson, by the Flagpole
09:15AM Briefing followed immediately by departure to chapel
09:30AM Set Flagline


Rich "Honor Man" Blackaby will serve as Ride Captain and bring Flags. Rich will also provide water.


Those who do not have a Ft. Carson base pass or DoD ID must obtain a visitor's pass prior to the briefing. No exceptions. Visitor's passes may be obtained at the Visitors Center outside of Gate 1. Please allow up to 30 minutes to obtain a pass, depending on how busy they are.

The weather is predicted to be hot. Please stay hydrated.
